Why Christians should receive the power to tread upon

tread upon serpents

Luke 10:19 says “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

For every Christian particularly in these end times there is a desperate need to be equipped and fully loaded with power. It is no longer enough to follow Christ, Christians need power to demonstrate the authority of the risen Christ. To carry out the marching order in the scripture above, a higher power is needed and this power is the  presence of God.

The Power of God
When Ephesians 6:10 says “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power”  it implies a Christian can be weak in the Lord and lacking in power. Only the power of God can confront serpents and overcome the power of the enemy so if you are not spiritually filled with God’s power you can not face and judge the serpents and your enemies.

8 Traits of Serpents

  • They hate the light
  • They move about in dark places
  • They swallow their prey alive
  • They are experts at killing with poison
  • They are close by, watching and waiting
  • They hide in quiet places before they attack
  • They are very deceptive
  • They are expressionless

12 common serpents troubling mankind

  • The family serpent: Families who worship serpents usually have a family serpent attached to them
  • Serpents sent on evil errands: Serpents are sent to victims to carry out evil  attacks
  • Demonic human beings who can transform into serpents
  • Evil Prophets: They manipulate people with their prophecies and make them engage in unbiblical acts and rites
  • Prostitutes
  • Human beings with the character and nature of serpents
  • Satanic worms: They move about in the body and cause diseases and affliction
  • Spirit husbands and wives: They are spirit partners that institute evil spiritual marriages
  • The programmed serpents: They operate mainly at night and perform what they have been assigned to do
  • Dream serpents: These operate in the dreams of their victims
  • Pursuing serpents: They are only visible to their victims and appear to them in real life
  • The strong man: There is a strong man responsible for captivity and bondage

The Power to tread upon
How you treat your own serpent is entirely up to you. God will not come down and fight your serpents. You have to arise and fight your serpents by connecting to the power to tread upon. This power can be acquired by genuinely born again christians who are living  a holy life and have cried out to God to deposit this power in their lives. When loaded with power, you can speak death unto your own serpent with fire prayers and throw them into fire just as Paul did on the island of Malta (Acts 28:1).

Prayers to tread upon serpents

  1. The poison of the serpent inside me receive the blood of Jesus and be neutralized
  2. The serpent of darkness sent to torment me I crush you with the heels of power
  3. The ancient family serpent troubling my life and my destiny I cut you asunder with the sword of fire
  4. The stubborn serpent following me turn back by the blood of Jesus
  5. My dream life that is under the attack of serpents I purify you with the blood of Jesus
