It’s getting to that time again! Planning for a family break and going off somewhere nice and hopefully not too expensive. From my internet searches, here are some top spots to take the family to this summer. And it’s just what you wanted…..relaxing, fun and spirit filled.
If your children are grown up and can go on holiday without their parents, WEC Youthcamps is a first class camping holiday with bible and missions teaching for young Christians. There, emphasis is placed on the central aspects of the Christian faith along with their ethos of good times, good teaching and good involvement.
Merseyside Christian Youth camp is also another option to consider for your grown up children. Their package includes group activities and free time in the mornings, off-site trips in the afternoons and praise and worship in the evenings. A Sports day and one or more barbecues by the camp fire are also regular events. Their aim is to provide a safe but fun environment in which relationships can be built and the gospel shared.
For your children aged 8-18 offer them a life changing experience at Ventures Holidays. Led by committed Christian leaders who have a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus with young people through the environment of a fun, activity holiday; Ventures helps young people make new friends, have new experiences and find out more about God.
Perhaps you are after a week of friendship and learning more about an awesome God, Devon Christian Youth Camp is a provider of girl camps, boy camps, junior mixed camps and senior mixed camps. The camp site, which enjoys spectacular views, is just half a mile from Blackpool Sands in a field by the sea in stunning South Devon.
Hill House Christian Center is an ideal place for some family time away. It offers a venue for Christian conferences, study days, field courses, retreats, team building and leadership courses, special events, plus much more, and is available throughout the year. Each year Hill House holds a Family Camp over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend and during the summer. Young people aged between 11- 25yrs join together for a week camping on the sports field but enjoying all the facilities of Hill House. The Camps provide young people with maximum fun and enjoyment in a lively Christian atmosphere through a variety of activities, competitions and all kinds of sport, including swimming in the outdoor pool.
My most valuable find during my holiday internet search was the Christian Holiday Guide 2013. It provides a directory of holiday categories ranging from celebrations, conferences, holiday parks, retreats, activity holidays, youth holidays and general holidays for you to pick from. Very easy to navigate as well because its been divided into central England, northern England, southern England, south-west England eastern England, London, Ireland, Scotland and overseas.
Another site to book mark would be Holidays4Christians which is an interactive internet directory of Christian accommodation in the UK. Eden the world of Christian resources on the internet also offers a search category of conference centers, guest houses and hotels in the UK. Likewise, Windrush holidays provides a search for peaceful retreat venues, quiet cottage or family holidays, rest and tranquility in a caravan or chalet, self catering, bed and breakfast, half board or full board as well as conference centers, church holidays and house group weekend breaks.
To simply relax and enjoy one of the best in Christian comfort, you might consider booking a Christian Guild venue. They welcome guests of all ages, the young and the young at heart, families, groups, people on their own and families with children. It exists to provide Christian-based holidays for everyone who is a Christian, who is seeking to find Christ, or who is in sympathy with the Christian faith.
So, if you are ready for that much-needed break this year, now is the time to start booking before the summer rush. Please click on the holiday venues and directories to be directed to their websites.
We would love to hear from you. Can you suggest other Christian holiday venues?
